Hi David. This is an awesome website and I am gaining so much knowledge and inspiration from it.

My suggestion for exercises would be on how to read! Something silly, I'm sure, but one in which would be immensely helpful to elaborate on.

I have a colleague who has 20/20 site and has been advising me in how she reads - literally looking at each letter in a word best until the word forms in her mind. I currently see chunks of words if not the ones side by side clearly and trying to narrow that attention to mirror what she does.

The difficulty I tend to get, is that I invariably have to slow down to read the letters in the same way as my 20/20 colleage and my comprehension (currently) is very poor - almost as if I am just looking at meaningless lines. In time I expect both comprehension and speed to pick up.

what about eye massaging techniques or if doing warmups effect the eyes progress the same way it effects the rest of the body(the eye is a muscle isnt it?)

Head Tilt/Wobble For Astigmatism

Postby JMartinC4 on Fri Jul 30, 2010 5:46 am

Something I have been doing/using but don't remember reading much if anything about it in Bates/Corbett/et al, is that by left-right tilting/slow-wobbling my head (turning each ear towards its shoulder) I am able to counter what I think is the different astigmatism between my eyes, and produce much clearer vision - sort of the way the optometrist twists the lenses in the machine when measuring my eyeballs. (Maybe all he's really measuring is just the amount of incorrect head tilt I've got going!?) Is this addressed in the Bates literature anywhere? [A cultural referent might be the kind of head-wobbling commonly seen in India.]
