After reading last few David's blog entries this "dotted chart" idea came to my mind.
Why not create a chart that resembles the Snellen Chart but instead of solid letters we would have the letters constructed of dots. In my opinion such a chart would force shifting while moving from letter to letter or even while looking at one letter. One would constantly move the attention from one point to the other while looking at the letter which would further more avoid staring at the letter. I am not an expert in Bates, but I believe that this could help a little so, I created such a thing.
I uploaded it here:

What do you think about the idea?

I like it. It's a good idea. The nice thing about a professionally made chart is the contrast is very high (black and off-white) and it's non-glare. Is there some kind of non-glare paper that will work with an inkjet printer?

Blwegrzyn,
I like your chart
Can you tell us how it is done to have dotted letters ?
I would try to print some normal text this way, to see if is easier to read.
Thanks.

I'm surprised I ran across this. I myself have used dots as well, although not as professionally done. I have an eye chart, and on the lower half of the paper that isn't text(just extra white space) I colored in DARK circles with a pen, scattered everywhere, in a random layout. I just shift from dot to dot and it helps me a LOT because I don't let my mind "force" what I want the letter(which I know in my head) what to look like.
