Speaking of fading senses, I happened to run across a shocking (but old) article. As many as 50 million Americans could have hearing impairment due to loud music and other loud noices by 2050. And kids have 2 1/2 times the rate of hearing loss than their parents and grandparents.

I'm pretty noise sensitive, myself. Even music I kind of like I can't stand for very long, and not loud.

I wonder what it is that attracts people to loud music.
