is throwing a ball into the air and catching it an exercise - fuggles - 04-01-2009
What category of exercise would that fall into ? shifting ? and is it beneficial at all ?

Mix it with Juggeling.
Shifting. Central fixation.
Left and right brain hemisphere activation, integration as eyes look up, down, left, right,.. and throw the ball to left and right hands.
Move the head/body with the eyes.
A form of this is taught in one of Thomas Quackenbiushes classes.

To me it seems like exercises like that would be targeted toward people who don't do much in the way of hand-eye coordination or tracking moving objects. Other myopic people play sports regularly and would have a hard time getting anything out of it without some more intense or more specific involvement.
