Addressing Martin's "Concerns". - otis - 09-19-2009

Dear Friends,

Subject: A very good review of medical checking.

I think we need to adress this issue of "medical checking".

I hope you have "broad band" and can watch this video.

Here is a 3 minute video.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyH9GwP25Wg&feature=fvw">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyH9GwP25Wg&feature=fvw</a><!-- m -->

Any preventive study (Bates/Prentice) should start with this type of medical exam, as part of the
"review" process for a person who is going ot use Bates preventive methods.

Only AFTER this doctor declares "no medical problem" should a preventive process
(change of refractive STATE and Snellen clering -- under control of the person himself) be attempted.

There are many who say that a student at a four year college is not competent to protect his distant vision using Bates/Prentice methods.

I personally think he is competent -- providing he can separate a medical issue from a preventive issue.

I argue that an intelligent person (at perhaps -1.0 dioters, self-measured
with Snellen and trial lens kit) could create a great success FOR HIMSELF.

David does a great service to all of us to review these issues -- and form our own opinion about Dr. Bates.

Best,

Otis
