Of course I have to wonder what might have happened if she'd used EFT before she had the Lasik surgery. What was most interesting to me here were the wrong beliefs she seemed to be able to eliminate, along the lines of "My whole family has poor vision so I need poor vision to belong."

I don't recommend Lasik.
Never heard of EFT. What is it?

EFT is short for Emotional Freedom Technique, or "tapping", since you tap on acupuncture points while addressing a problem, which moves the stuck energy through your body. You'll find many many references to it on YouTube and sample tapping videos. Here's a key website: http://www.eftuniverse.com/ As with any modality, some practitioners are better than others.
