The LOGIC behind shifting, central fixation, etc - Aethersky - 02-17-2014

Many people claim i am "anti-bates". I am not anti bates at all. his approach was somewhat "off" though. His focus seemed to be all about relaxation and the exstrinic muscles. In fact the ciliary muscles do the focusing.

Shifting, central fixation, etc are VERY VERY important. Why? because they trigger ACTIVE FOCUS. focus on the SMALL DETAILS. It is best to practice Shifting, central fixation, etc on a BLURRY object. you must use these techniques to pull focus. you must do this for BLOCKS of time (at least 30min-1 hour sessions)

This is the real SECRET FORMULA for vision improvement.
A "cure" is indeed possible!!!!!!!
QUICK AND EASY!!!

I don't think Bates said to never practice on blurry objects. He would tell you that if you can remember or imagine the blurry letters on the Snellen Test Card to be perfectly black and clear, you would be cured. But he might not approve of "pulling focus" as that might encourage straining. But if by "pulling focus" you mean remembering or imagining the letters he might approve.

relaxation and shifting, looking at the smallest detail is very necessary. I guess my choice of words : pulling focus, might not be the best way to say it. of course one should not strain, but active try to clear the image, uuntil there is a slight "discomfort" in the eyes.
i find that it works best with a snellen and for some reason doesn't work that well with plus lenses.
