Bernerr Mac Fadden's book Strengthening the Eyes,along with dozens of other health related books ,can be gotten free of charge . Just type Soil and Health Library in your Google bar and it will bring you to the site. blackspot.

With all due respect, I looked at the free McFadden book and I advise everyone to skip it, especially since Bates work is available on this site. For some mysterious reason McFadden avoids mentioning Bates by name even though he mentions a "famous New York opthalmologist." Maybe the orthodox docs were after Bates and McFadden wanted to protect him.
Still, why spend time on McFadden when there are such excellent books as Aldous Huxley's "Art of Seeing" and my favorite, "Re-learning to See" by Thomas Quackenbush. You get two books in one here because Quackenbush incorporates much of Bates verbatim.

I know a story that shows that Bates' method is a total rubbish, and it is a pretty famous one. However, loads of people use his method and telling everyone that they did invent it.

Interestingly enough, the first edition of Macfadden's book has Bates as a co-author. The story I heard was that Bates was widely criticized for associating himself with Macfadden, who was disliked by the medical community. Bates stormed into Macfadden's office and had Macfadden remove all mention of Bates from the book. Bates then published his own book a couple years later. But you know how word of mouth stories are.
Aside from historical purposes, I agree that there are better books out there than Macfadden's.
