Hello everyone.I was wondering the other day about what actually counts as visual measurements. When measuring your visual acuity do you count the letters you could make out or do you count the letters you can see perfectly clear and distinct. For example at 3 feet I could make out the 40 line but it isnt clear and perfectly black. Do I count that as 3/30 or does it have to be clear and perfectly black to count.Im nearsighted.
If you're myopic, then at a distance you're not going to see any of the letters perfectly sharp and distinct, no matter how large they are. This question comes up a lot. But I want to point out that myopia is a problem focusing at a distance, not a problem focusing on only small objects at a distance. If the larger letters appear more sharp, it's only because they have less blur around them relative to the size of the letter.
