I keep hearing squeezing the eyes for 5-10 secs and then open your eyes wide and see clear. It claims to be an exercise but i thought squeezing the eyes was bad. Should i continue to squeeze my eyes?

my mother had cataract surgery for both eyes 5 months ago! it took her eyes a month and a half to fully recover and let the tissue repair the cuts. Now she's doing fine

It is very hard for me to improve my vision when i am in a constant state of strain. I don't know why but everyday either in school or home i would feel strain coming from my eyes and it hurts/painful...
