no, it was an estimated guess, and i am very sure that this is very accurate as when i put on-2.25 glasses just to briefly check my sight, i can see 20/30 line

from what i learned somewhere 20/40 is -2 and -1.5 is 20/30 approx, anyways i just use the snellen chart at it is more reliable.

I know what you mean as peoples eye charts are in different lighting conditions and mine is near a window and is always in the light, so I don't know if mine is 100% accurate either.

@Daniel, Sometimes I would swing the whole eye chart and sometimes swing one letter, But yes I printed a small eye chart and then I would cover my eyes and imagine it and then look at the far eye char...

@Daniel 'I realize that people wear lesser prescriptions to leave room for improvement, but even then you are most likely reinforcing the strain to some degree, especially if you need glasses for both...
