Lets say one day that the mainstream doctors have proved Bates and his methods right. Do you think that the Bates method will become mainstream by then?
I believe that this question can be answered in both ways. Some people will say, "Yes, of course it will become mainstream." The Bates method is a natural way of improving eyesight. It restores the eye back to its natural state. It is also free from the risks that surgery can cause. The bates method costs a lot less money than glasses or surgery, since its resources are mostly on the web for free.
On the other hand, the bates method can be very time consuming. It can take months or years in order to regain normal vision. I doubt that this will be appealing to the people in our fast paced society. It is also subtle and hard to understand, it takes a certain amount of reflection on how you use your eyes. Its main principle, "not trying to see" goes against the western civilization idea of being doers and putting effort into everything.
I think that the bates method will only become mainstream after our civilization changes its ideas about being doers and all that "no pain, no gain" stuff.

To be honest, I don't know if it one day will be a mainstream in improving vision and health.

I see the world, at least most of people like a flock of this slave system around the world, people think they're free, but they are not, well that's another thing, you always can choose if you take it or waste your energy on those things.
All this leads to a somewhat subconscious pressure, where you feel altered, confused, limited and useless about yourself and uncomfortable in your body.
I don't see "The Bates Method" as a method itself, it's not only about "Ok, I want to see clearly becouse it's annoying, so I will follow a schedule", but you in fact need it, you think of it like "I prefer to hide behind this fuzzy cloud". That's why you're seeing that bad. The essence of all this is unlearning these bad habits of strain. When you do so, not only the vision clears up, but you start to feel more present, comfortable with you as being, grounded and connected to the world which is in front of you. So that's why it's all about the way you're doing things in your life and learn again how NOT to do things with strain, becouse that not works.
We were told that we must try hard and concentrate in every task in order to accomplish it and give their best. But the fact is that: Things are done better, efficiently in a effortless way.
For example I like to listen music a lot, loud, style like oriented depressive rock metal, you may it's not good for your mood, but for me it's the best, lifted my spirits and give me a lot of hope about life. It's about how you take things.
It's more common sense of what you think.

I agree with you. I don't believe the bates method is just about vision. After I started practicing it, I felt more calm and more at peace. I also felt more relaxed, thinking was more effortless. I now often think about how unfortunate some people are, carrying a whole lot of tension in their body and not being able to let it go, and living in a life of anxiety and stress.
I suspect that it will be modified somewhat before it becomes popular. There's room for improvement. And if you look at history, two or three things have to coalesce to cause a major change like that. The history books don't document that very well, but it's evident in current events. Like with the online poker thing currently being legislated - the push for it is fueled by the govt's need for another stream of revenue by taxing online casinos, the players' outrage at having millions of their $ stolen by Full Tilt Poker, high unemployment, and US citizens pushing back against diminishing freedom.

Perhaps a bit spritually philosophical or philosophically spiritual or whatever, but I like to think that truth always shines through in the end, so I do believe that there will come a time when it becomes mainstream. How long that will take remains to be seen, but I have a feeling that the more people who derive benefit from the Bates method, the faster it will become mainstream. One of the reasons that it isn't already mainstream has to be that it's not something that is easy or intuitive. Many people give up after a day or week or month without success and they pass it off as a "scam" or something of that variety. But if there were two success stories for each failure, gradually, people would not be able to ignore the truth in the Bates method.
