Understanding the process

Of late I've been having some success using the bates method and have been working to get a big picture of what it is that is occuring behind the scenes for my success. My apologies if I'm being captain obvious here.

So far I have: Diffusion occurs, where mind or eyes are unwilling to focus. Then effort is applied on the eyes to compensate for diffusion. Seeing now becomes a physical effort where previously (normal) seeing was mostly a mental function.
