What would be better for adjusting to a lower prescription contacts or glasses?

What would be better for adjusting to a lower prescription contacts or glasses?

I have 4 pairs.

1) Original one.
2) -0.25 lower
3) -0.50 lower
4) -1.00 lower

currently using the fourth one to type on laptop from 1 and half feet away.
Feels like I have achieved the stagnation over my diopters.
(I get allergy with contacts so i rarely use it)

Do you buy the cheapest lens?

No. Actually 2 of them are my used old specs. I buy them online in India and even I can manage to lower the prescription at shops too but i always buy quality products because eyes are everything but money isn't.
