"Free disclosure of scientific journals" petition
#1
I came across this message by Alex Eulenberg today, and signed both petitions. I encourage you to do the same.

Vision research: you paid for it, you deserve free access!

Many, if not most, of the journal articles relating to vision
improvement are funded by public money. And yet, many of these
articles are not made freely available on the internet. I have
mentioned before that I think this is wrong. We all have the right to
be as fully informed on health issues as is technically possible. If
public health policy is truly "evidence based" then we need to be
able to review, discuss, and download that evidence. In any case, we
paid for it!

Now there's something easy you can do to proclaim your right of free
access to this research.

Here are two online petitions, one for the European Union:

One for the United States:

No matter where you live, you can sign them both.
