Is it okay to squeeze your eyes (as in closing your eyes so tight) and opening them really wide? It's sort of like working the muscles around your eyes. Would it be harmful?

No don't do it! You're just trying to force yourself to temporarily see clearly.

It wouldn't be harmful in the sense of imminent danger is barreling down on you, but this is precisely the thing that got you into your position in the first place.

Working muscles around the eyes will never help you improve, the muscles don't need or want exercise. Although you will see with temporary clarity, it'd be just the same as pressing on your eyes with your fingers.
