I've been thrashing about online, finding lots of information about The Bates Method, but I cannot find the actual exercises.

Can someone direct me to a good, clear online source that describes the EXERCISES/METHODS in detail, and explains how to perform them?

Would like to hear of suggestions of how to deal with this.
I am also looking for someone to help on the physical side to see what might be wrong. I gave u0p on conventional doctors and looking for something natural.

With this stress is there any point in continuing with the eyesight improvement?

I am new here and I just started doing eye exercises. I am no longer using my contacts. So I am going without any correction most of the time except I need to use glasses for 8 hours 5 days a week for my job. My vision is not good enough to see the computer screen without some form of correction. I do have an old pair of glasses with a lower prescription that I have been using but I don't think the prescription is low enough. I can still see most things perfectly. I plan on ordering cheap glasses from Zenni optical. Below is my prescription from my last eye doctor visit. Based on this what prescription lower should i order from Zenni optical?

OD: -3.50 (sphere) -1.50 (cylinder) 135 (axis)
OS: -5.00  (sphere) -1.00 (cylinder) 046 (axis)

Thank you!]]>

So there is the long swing to relax the eyes, which has worked very well for the horizontal relaxation of my eyes. There is also the nose feather or stick for horizontal central fixation, but wwhat can help more with central fixation of vertical movement? Thanks to my poor habits of reading when I was younger, and in strong glasses when i did not need them at such a close distance,  my habit is to look at the tops of things to see the whole item.  I have been working on it,  especially with non word objects because that is the deepest ingrained habit. I am having good progress and the bizarre upward blur that would happen everytimei blinked i practically gone, and I am always looking for more techniques.

Is there an equivalent if the long swing for up and down movement?

Thanks to David and this forum,  I can now see my eyes in the bathroom mirror clearly sometimes, and they no longer look like bizarre demon eyes. For that I am eternally grateful. I feel more beautiful now that I am starting to see who I am. And I am giving myself til the end of October to get an eye exam.  I am seriously excited to see their results, and at the same timewon't be judging myself if they are not what I think they should be. I already have all the proof I need  Heart]]>

Can also be between squeezing your eyes shut for few seconds.
Palming- cup your hands over your eyes no pressure on your eye and you should be able to open your eyes and see pitch black no light anywhere.
Looking in all directions- imagine a giant clock and look in direction of each number as far as you can then back to middle. Then circle your eyes round the clock.
Near and far focus- focus on something close then something far alternating the two.
Keep looking in distance every half hour or so when doing something close up.
Sunning- when it's sunny face the sun with your eyes closed.
Print pushing- when reading hold the print as far away as possible so you can only just read it without straining your eyes.
I don't know if any of these work but the print pushing and blinking sound like they mite. Has anyone tried any and did they work?]]>

I've taken on palming for an hour a day for over a year, this is done in a position where I'm laying on my back. Some times I fall asleep for a short nap, I awaken facing the ceiling and for about 3 seconds I can see extremely small details on the ceiling which may be about 12 feet from my head. This phenomena only happens when I fall asleep and awaken, it does not happen from purely palming.

I think this is different from traditional clear flashes because it is consistently repeatable. No matter how much I blink in a few seconds eventually my myopic condition returns and the details on the ceiling become a blur. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me figure out what I'm doing to unconsciously lower my vision so that I may refrain from it and complete my vision improvement journey?]]>

Bates also said that it could take some time for people to recover.
So how would a person know whether a method of eye improvement was working and to continue with it?

Also how do I use the Bates method throughout the day, to apply the vision habits beyond the exercises; Can someone give me examples?

It has been somewhat discouraging, especially since i am fairly sure that my eyes are in a nice relaxed state after various tingling sensations in my face and eyes from muscles slowly being woken up.  I can barely keep my eyes about half open though,  now, which is annoying because i feel awake and primed for looking around at nature. Even keeping my eyes half open is tiring.

Please help with some thoughts or suggestions,  and let me know if i can help with more specifics. This happens with both distance and nearpoint relaxation periods. Thank you!]]>
