Dream: The Depth Ball

I’m with my eye doctor, a friendly guy I’ve known for years, who usually treats me like a colleague instead of a subservient patient. I walk over to the adjacent office of a chiropractor, to notice everything there is dark and it seems to be closed for the day. My eye doctor says I can call them in the morning.

Now the eye doctor seems to move more into professional mode, asking his assistant if they have any more Depth Balls to sell. He seems to think this is something I need to improve my vision. He shows me a small child’s ball covered with sections of different patterns, one of stars on a dark blue background, some areas of plain red, and transparent stripes where I can see through to the other inner side of the ball. Is this what gives it the special depth effect?

As I wake up, I’m remembering how many times I’ve dreamed of this eye doctor’s office with a chiropractor office next door. Since that office is closed here, maybe it means I don’t need that kind of spinal/postural adjustment any longer, with the exercises I’ve been doing. (For more on this, see here.) The depth ball reminds me of the importance of looking at depth images, which I’ve written more about here.

Finally, if I can use the world around me to practice seeing 3D, do I really need a depth ball? And if I can adjust my spine and improve my posture and body alignment with the work I’m doing myself (with some expert guidance and support, I admit), I probably don’t need a chiropractor either. Find the teachers and helpers you need, medical or otherwise. Please enjoy whatever you see, and appreciate the movement and functioning of your wonderful physical body.
