When should you see improvement in your eyesight?

You might start by posting your current prescription.

It also helps to read your Snellen to get a general
idea of your visual acuity -- so you can
see your clear-flashes as they begin
to happen from your palming.

That is an excellent start!

That is approximately a -1.5 diopter "prescription",
but your reading of the Snellen is of greater importance.

I would suggest reading David De Angelis' site
who is a strong Bates-type person.

There is very little correlation between acuity on a chart and the prescription you get from an optometrist. It's like estimating how much your can bench press based on the width of your arm - It often has a little something to do with it, but you can't make any accurate estimations.

This is EXACTLY what Bates said about the knee-jerk over-prescription
policy of the majority-opinion ODs.

I HOPE you have not been wearing it!!!

With confirmed 20/70 vision (use the IVAC Snelle), you
can FUNCTION with no minus lens.  It is not
easy -- but that is the first step.

At 20/70, a -1.5 diopter lens would clear the 20/40,
20/30 and perhaps the 20/20 line -- for you.

You could get this lens from Zenniopical.com for
about $15.

If you are not driving a car -- that would resolve
that issue for you.  Mind you -- I do not provide
medical advice. If it were me, and I had
confired 20/70 vision -- that is what I would do.

Now if Bates is correct, then you should be able
to clear your vision to pass most of the
standard DMV tests.

Also, this is the point where Bates said, throw
away that (minus) lens and SEE.

That is the goal.

You do this, and your clearing from
-3.75 diopters will be a major
success for the Bates method.
