isnt seeing illusions dangerous?

i have read that poeple with normal eye see illusions of their imagination.
wouldnt it be dangerous when they just show up when driving?

Not to worry. Your mind has an excellent filter mechanism that prevents you (most of the time) from seeing illusory things that jeopardize your safety or are deeply disturbing.
I believe that the illusions Bates was writing about are more in the realm of size, clarity, motion, contrast, etc. They are not confusing to the mind when accepted as normal.
