Dave, Do you mind the appearance of these shoes? Or do you do the running in a secluded area? I wonder if the sore calves is a common problem or not when adjusting to them. Footballman.

My instincts are that this is simply a sign of strain..and the muscles in this region being overly tense..I think it's as simple as that. But yeah, diet could be something to look into.
